How to get tar off skin

How to get tar off skin

Some of the nicest beaches in Southern California have a dirty secret.  Natural seepage from offshore oil can cause tarballs which float on the ocean and wash up on the sand. The tar and oil then ends-up on your feet, shoes, surfboards, etc.  In the past, getting this sticky substance off your skin was a messy process.  Soap and water are simply not strong enough and other solutions like baby oil, petroleum jelly, gasoline, and mayonnaise, are either impractical to bring to the beach, or are damaging to the skin and the environment.

One of the major problems with oil or petroleum-based products, is that they leave an oily residue that stays on your skin. So when you go back into the water that oil goes back too, creating pollution that is harmful to marine life.  Environmental safety, effectiveness and ease-of-use, is what prompted the founder of Oil Slick Beach Tar Remover (a Santa Barbara surfer) to come up with an all natural, non-toxic, plant-based tar remover.  It has quickly become a favorite of beachgoers throughout Southern California.
